Arts Education Manager
Full-time Staff Position
June 2025
Schedule: Beginning ASAP; 40 hours/week; weekly schedule determined in alignment with AGCC’s Executive Director/Staff
Reports To: Director of Arts Education
Salary: $62,000-$67,000 + benefits package
Angels Gate Cultural Center (AGCC) provides space for artists to work and engages community through arts education, exhibitions of contemporary art, and cultural events. AGCC provides (1) services to professional artists, (2) innovative public arts programming, including exhibitions of local, national and international artists, and (3) high-quality arts education for children and adults in the Los Angeles Harbor Region.
Position Summary:
Reporting to the Director of Arts Education, and in partnership with the Executive Director, the Arts Education Manager will assist with all aspects of design, funding, logistics, administration, and evaluation of arts education programs conducted by Angels Gate Cultural Center.
The Arts Education Manager will support AGCC’s staff on-site during monthly Family Art Workshops, the Artists-in-Classrooms (AIC) In-School Programming, Arts + Exploration Field Trips, Teen Mural Club, and other arts education programming within the community. The Arts Education Manager will also aid in the overall operations of Angels Gate Cultural Center.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Facilitate school relationships including outreach and ongoing support with procedures
- Artist-Teacher support
- Scheduling
- Supply and art material management
- Program Assessment
- Track data including finances
- Grant dispersal and reporting
- Payment processing
- Collaborate with Artist-Teachers and AGCC staff on curriculum and lesson planning
- Support AGCC Education team at all education events
- Work cross collaboratively with other staff and departments
- Work alongside the development team to gain funding for AGCC’s programs
Qualifications:
- Passion for the Arts, desire to support a nonprofit arts organization in multi-faceted ways
- Minimum 5+ years Arts Education/Program Management experience
- Exceptional communication skills; ability to work collaboratively in a team environment with various community members
- Ability to work independently, adept project manager, impeccable time management and prioritization skills
- Adaptability, flexibility, and desire to jump in and take initiative on projects
- Desire to become dedicated member of AGCC’s staff, including attending weekly team meetings, professional development opportunities, and completing all other staff responsibilities
- Bachelor’s degree in Arts Education or related discipline preferred
- Demonstrated experience in and a commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion: the ability to work collaboratively and effectively with various constituencies within AGCC’s diverse communities

Marketing Intern – Closed
Brief Position Description:
Angels Gate Cultural Center’s Marketing Intern will work to understand the purpose of, and how to support and enhance, the organization’s marketing and outreach efforts. The intern will assist with implementing and expanding the Center’s gallery and arts education programming, contribute to AGCC’s social media presence, assist with fundraising efforts through creating and implementing a marketing campaign and provide support for ongoing social media and outreach activities.
The intern will participate in shared daily administrative activities and will have the opportunity to gain knowledge about an arts organization’s operations, gallery education, program promotion, public relations, marketing, effective design and visual communication, and arts education advocacy.
This is a part-time, 20-32 hours/week, paid approximately 12-week internship, July through October, flexible dependent on the intern’s availability. Open to enrolled undergraduate (2 or 4-year) and community college students who reside or attend college in Los Angeles County.
Required or preferred qualifications:
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Enthusiasm for the arts and arts education, a passion for bringing high-quality arts programming to underserved communities
- Major in art, arts education, museum studies and/or art history preferred
- Familiarity with Mac computers
- Knowledge of MS Office, including Excel and Word
- Familiarity with graphic design and photo editing software/programs
- Knowledge of social media platforms
- Interest in creating strategies and content for digital marketing campaigns

Brief Organizational Information:
Angels Gate Cultural Center’s (AGCC) mission is to provide space for artists to work and to engage the community through arts education, exhibitions of contemporary art, and cultural events. AGCC is a medium-sized, community-based interdisciplinary arts center in San Pedro. The Center offers a year-round schedule of gallery exhibitions of contemporary art, featuring the work of local, national and international artists. In addition, the Center provides professional work-studio space for 52 artists, including musicians, ceramists, painters, sculptors, writers, photographers, printmakers and jewelers. Finally, AGCC offers ongoing arts education programming on-site at the Center through our Community Class program, in local schools through Artists-in-Classrooms, and throughout the Los Angeles Harbor community in various free public workshops.
