A word from our Director-

Thank you so much for being an arts advocate for Angels Gate Cultural Center!  I want to share how important this 40th anniversary year is for an art center that is ever growing. From humble beginnings with amazing founding artists that fought for the space and the chance to build an arts community.  To a strong community now, with almost 100 artists on the hill working the many programs we have today. We are the art center on the hill and still sometimes the best kept secret with views for miles.  We have only been able to grow with the help of you, our supporters and advocates.  Thank you for participating and helping us to serve over 15,000 people each year and for contributing to our center so we can provide over 35 events a year both virtual and on campus.

We have some more fun activities set for the rest of our 40th year and I hope you will come and join us.  Awake In Color, our 40th anniversary fundraiser, is a chance to come to a party by artists, for artists and our friends!  I hope you will join us to see work from over 60 of our present and alumnus studio artists.  Or come to the closing party of this Gathering of Angels show on July 30.  Or any of the numerous events coming up in the next 6 months.  We can’t wait to art with you!

-Amy Eriksen-

Gathering of Angels

40th Anniversary Exhibition

June 30 – July 30, 2022

The 40th Anniversary Gathering of Angels exhibition recognizes the invaluable contributions artists at the Center have made to the San Pedro community.

Angels Gate Cultural Center was established in 1982 by San Pedro artists who transformed the former WWII-era army barracks into artist studios. Today, the Center hosts 50 artist studios in addition to numerous community programs and cultural events that serve the greater Harbor and Los Angeles region.
