Studio Artists Phoebe Barnum, WS Milner and Lowell Nickel, along with Angels Gate Cultural Center board member, Susan Davis, are participating in an online group exhibition titled Countdown at El Camino College Art Gallery.

Countdown, an exhibition addressing global concern regarding the increasing number of animal species threatened with imminent extinction runs through October 24th.

Studio Artist Ann Weber is included in an exhibition called Making Time at Craft Contemporary museum, view  until Sunday, September 12th. Visit the exhibition before closing day!  

𝘔𝘢𝘬𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘛𝘪𝘮𝘦 brings together ten Los Angeles-based artists who have been instrumental in Craft Contemporary’s recent history. These ten artists’ work have served as touchstones for the museum in expanding its definition of craft by interrogating the history and meaning embedded within each material.

Multiples shares a strategy of building meaning from the multiple, as found in iterative series, repetition of mass-produced objects and images in new and site-responsive works by Nathan Gulick, Colleen Hargaden, Seth Lower, Megan Mueller, Samuel Scharf, Noah Spindler, Katie Thoma, and Katya Usvitsky, and Hannah Sage Kay.

OPaf (Other Places art fair)
September 11 and 12, noon – 6pm

OPaf 2021 features over fifty outdoor installations by artists and art-collectives from the United States and Mexico dispersed throughout AGCC. Representing the growing movement of hard-to-define art project spaces, OPaf provides an alternative art fair structure designed specifically for unconventional projects. In addition to the main fair, OPaf 2021 will also feature two days of performances and talks, live screen printing, a used art book sale, and food.
Admission: $5 donation, free for students.

Join Artist-Teacher Nancy Woo for this month’s workshop! Create your own greeting cards out of homemade stamps! Learn how to turn regular household objects (like rubber bands, bubble wrap, and bottle caps) into exciting stamps that you can use to make all sorts of paintings and stationary. The possibilities are endless with a little creativity! Please bring an old T-shirt to use as a smock for paint.

Supplies will be provided to those who attend on-site at AGCC.
