Homesĭtē Culinary Performances

In conjunction with Homesĭtē, on view at AGCC, the Culinary Performances will give community members the opportunity to share a story and/or demonstrate the recipe of a dish that means home to them.
In conjunction with Homesĭtē, on view at AGCC, the Culinary Performances will give community members the opportunity to share a story and/or demonstrate the recipe of a dish that means home to them. Past performances have included the many ways to use and prepare Za’atar, making butter from scratch, the history and recipe of Seafood Mac and Cheese, and multiple variations on a peanut butter sandwich. After the performances, we will share tastes of the food that was prepared.

Homesĭtē is an ongoing participatory work by Joyce Dallal and Lauren Kasmer on view at Angels Gate Cultural Center, April 15th – June 17th. Consisting of a series of structures emblematic of Los Angeles landscape and architecture, the installation reflects on the city as both home and origin. The community can also participate in Homesĭtē Recipe Exchange on the first floor of the gallery by sharing a recipe, memory, or story about a dish that means home
