Studio Artist Elyse Pignolet recently opened in her exhibition “I’m Not Like The Other Girls” at Track 16. The exhibition includes an installation that towers 10 feet tall, contains numerous smaller ceramic pieces and is a monument for the otherness of women.
“Pignolet works primarily in ceramics and her work has been inspired by and dealt with various themes including political and social issues, the dialectic between feminism and misogyny, inequality, and cultural stereotypes.”
The exhibition runs through November 20th.

As you may have heard, Joyce Weiss has passed away. She was a profound artist with a studio here at Angels Gate Cultural Center for over 25 years, amassing a large depth of work. As we mourn the loss of the amazing woman and artist she was, her family would like to share her art with the world and they will be hosting a studio sale of her artwork and supplies on October 23rd, 11-4pm.
Her work is imaginative and expertly created, with bright colors used at full volume.

“I have always felt a strong connection between the unseen world of the spirit and
the real everyday events around us. Dreams, magic spells, spirits and archetypal imagery have always played a major role in my work. The fragile quality of life with its fleeting transitional nature is the statement I wish to convey.”
– Joyce Weiss

October’s Family Art Workshop in-person at Angels Gate, as well as virtually on Zoom!
COVID-19 safety protocols (mask wearing & contact tracing) will be enforced on-site. Event begins promptly at 1pm – please be sure to be at Angels Gate by that time, or on zoom!
Saturday, October 16, 2021
1:00 PM – 2:30 PM PDT
In this workshop, we will make art by using the power of the sun to make cyanotypes!
Developed in 1842, cyanotypes are considered one of the earliest forms of photography. The process was partly invented as a way to easily make copies of documents and blueprints, but they can also be used to make amazing works of art. The in-person section of this workshop will go over how to mix cyanotype solution and coat it onto paper that we will then make amazing prints out of! For those of you taking the workshop from home, please look into purchasing pre-made sun print kits to join the fun! Suggested materials for online participants can be found on the registration page. Supplies will be provided to those who attend on-site at AGCC.
Sign up today!
Register on eventbrite, and you will receive the Zoom link prior to the event.
Children must be accompanied by an adult at all times.
