Ms. Karen!

Hi! My name is Karen and I like to make drawings and paintings using different techniques and materials such as paper, pastels, and paint. I'm inspired by all kinds of things that I see aroundme. My work is abstract and often uses lots of texture.

Growing up, I lived in New York City, Los Angeles, and Fresno, California; I traveled to Japan to learn about their papermaking techniques and culture; I had a small design business specializing in letterpress printing.

I made lots of art growing up and later I studied art in college at U.C Santa Barbara and U.C. Colorado. I learn by talking to other artists and by going to galleries and museums.
