Fabricating in Steel: Make A Table – Sep 23

Saturdays 10am – 12pm, 6 sessions, Building J.

This class is designed to teach the basics of welding and cutting metals. The first two classes serve as an introduction to basic principles for the beginner. This also warms-up those who have prior experience with metal, or completed previous courses. The final four classes introduce advanced welding and metal cutting principals. Students will gain a mastery of safety gear, essential tools, and workplace set-up. The class environment is an active metal studio, allowing students learn by doing and observing. Additional tutoring and post class follow up is available.
Class size is limited to 6 students to ensure close and frequent interaction with the instructor and tools.
Tools students learn to use are: MIG Welder, TIG Welder, PLASMA Cutter, Torch Cutter, 14” cut off saw, 5” grinder, using normal steel and stainless steel.
Class fee: $240 which includes use of tools, consumables, metals, and printed handouts.
Students must bring their own safety gear, according to a list provided once they enroll in class. The safety gear costs $40-$80 from Amazon.
