For 25 years, Angels Gate Cultural Center has provided studios to professional, working artists at a below market rate. The artists who are and have had studios at the Center have worked in every conceivable media, and have come from all over the globe.

Currently the Center offers two-year residencies with a possible one-year extension to professional, working artists.

What are the Studios Like?
Studios vary in size, lighting and other features. Studios rent from $150 - $700 per month, and vary in size from 150 square feet to 1000 square feet. Each of our studios, like the artists that use them, is unique, so it's important for applicants to be explicit and thorough in describing their practice and their needs, both in terms of facilities and space, so that we can match you up with the right studio. Our facilities are adapted from former military structures and it is a challenge for us to serve artists with practices that either require high electrical loads and/or are exceptionally noisy. Our studios are located in Angels Gate Park, which is open to the public and Studio Artist Program members from 6am-10:30pm daily, 365 days a year.

Who Should Apply?
Professional artists, or those who aspire to be one. From students preparing for their first shows to established artists, we welcome applications from artists at any point in their career. Applicants should be willing and interested in being good neighbors, taking advantage of the dialogue that occurs within a community of artists and be willing to open their Angels Gate studio to the public for our annual Open Studios event.
