High Fire Stoneware & Porcelain Workshops – June 6

Tuesday evenings 5:30 – 8:30pm

Session one ~    June  6, 13, 20, & 27
Session two ~ August  1, 8, 15, & 22nd.

Students explore various hand-building techniques while creating clay forms. Demonstrations include slab construction, coil building, with some wheel throwing. Learn about surface decoration including: applied textures, colored slips, and glaze application. Emphasis is placed on exploring surface treatments using both texture and color, Ash glazes and Sagger firing techniques will be stressed. The perfect summer class so to expand your high fire skills and advance your ceramic experience to the next level! 

Instructors demonstrate more advanced techniques in surface decoration and glazing.  This class is a great opportunity for you to move beyond the basic techniques of throwing on the wheel.
