Dennis Keeley   Portraits /  Twenty Five Years in Music

April is the month of photography in Los Angeles.  Lectures. Events, Exhibitions from the Getty to LACMA and MOCA will feature photography.  The Icon, in the Miracle Mile at 5450 Wilshire Blvd will host an exhibition of portraits of musicians by Dennis Keeley.   Keeley made hundreds of portraits of musicians from the 1970’s till the early 2000’s.  His work for periodicals, album covers and for musicians made him one of the more sought after photographers in Los Angeles. He also worked for the J. Paul Getty Center’s Conservation Institute, published a book about Los Angeles for the Research Institute and was a documentary photographer for the construction of the Garden by Robert Irwin.  In 2004 he became the Chair of the Photography and Imaging program at Art Center College of Design.  The opening reception is April 16, 5pm to 8 pm
